Abuse of Authority by Del Mar as a public official

As a Council Member of the Village of Palatine Del Mar hosted a picnic for the public in his district. Village resources were utilized for the picnic including equipment and personnel. This would have been fine if he had not used the event to promote his candidacy. By promoting his candidacy at the event he made it a political event utilizing Village resources, a clear violation of ethics, if not law.
